This video is a continuation of a previous one that shows the process used to add texture to a painting. I have shown the first finished abstract piece of eight paintings in my January painting schedule. This particular painting will need to have the edges painted, have the surface protected by a couple of layers of varnish and have hardware installed. Then I have to decide if I will put it in my “non-objective” portfolio or have it under “texture.” Oh and of course name this painting. I need to be well rested to have something brilliant come to mind. My first two ideas do not deserve a five star rating.
As well in this clip there are other canvases shown that have been gessoed with a variety of gesso colours depending on whether the colour palette will be warm or cool. I will show the finished product as I go along.
