This will not be the first painting that this young couple purchase. They have several original pieces in their home. However, it is the first piece that they have selected together.

They started by browsing all of the available paintings that I have listed and narrowed things down to five paintings. This part of the process gave them a chance to talk about their likes and dislikes. We then looked at two or three paintings in person and quickly narrowed the field to three favourites.

This photo was taken of a second visit to look at this particular piece. It takes a bit of imagination to “see” it cropped when it is stretched on a frame thereby eliminating the distracting edges.

The best advice from watching these two – take your time and have fun. You will live with a painting for a long time and it is worth the investment of time to make the right choice.
